Mombasa campus was invited by Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Secondary School, Mombasa to give an awareness talk to form four students on education programs and related career prospects.
The invitation was prompted by an observation by the schools administration that most students shun education programs in favour of prestigious career programs like medicine, engineering etc.
Placement slots for these programs are usually few in the country making them very competitive such that only a handful of the creme de la creme students find their way into the short list. Those who are edged out find themselves settling for any other program with vacant slots whose career prospects might at best be chancy if not non-existent in the local market.
Students were therefore encouraged to consider education programs which have diverse career prospects, are ever in demand and an opportunity for a fulfilling career.
The awareness talks were presented by campus marketing committee members Mr. Athman Fadhili (chairman), Dr. Stephen Orago, Dr. Bitok Kipkosgei, Mr. Godfrey Mae, and BEd students Ms. Ahlam Ahmed, Ms. Anab Abdi, Ms. Aisha Muhammad, Ms. Alyah Hamisi.
